Is ‘Studio Pilates’ the same as ‘Clinical Pilates’?
‘Clinical Pilates’ was originally trademarked for qualified physiotherapists, but the term has been widely misused by unqualified instructors. Today, ‘Clinical Pilates’ and ‘Studio Pilates’ should be equivalent, but the terminology unfortunately no longer reflects qualifications.
Can I only do private Pilates if I’m injured?
Who should do Studio Pilates?
- If you have been diagnosed with an injury from a Physio please do a 1:1 first before stepping into a class setting.
- If you are in pain and unsure why - we can help book yourself an initial consultation.
- If you are struggling in a class setting with a specific injury please do not self diagnose consult with a staff member to book your 1:1 session. Classes are not to be modified as your personal private session.
We help you move better, so you can start feeling better.
How that looks is down to you. The Pilates method gives us the ability to meet you where you are on your journey and create meaningful change in how you move.
We smash preconceptions about movement limitations according to age, gender, injury, and illness – Pilates is for every body, and any body can do it and find value in its system. You are only limited by your willingness to try and move.
